Tuva Rivedal Tjugen
Tuva Rivedal Tjugen is a furniture and spatial designer based in Bergen, Norway. One of her main ambitions is improving the everyday life of people, and she finds inspiration in how humans interact with the objects surrounding them. Nature is also an important part of her design, and through her work she is constantly seeking simplicity by focusing on form, function and materials.
Tuva graduated in spring 2017 with a master in Design from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design, from where she also holds a bachelor in Furniture design and Interior Architecture. Tuva holds an additional bachelor in Occupational Therapy from the Bergen University College.
While studying, her bench "Diversity" was one of the winners of X-works 2.0, a competition held by the Swedish furniture manufacturer Lammhults. In cooperation with Lammhults she launched the waste bin series "BOSS". Tuva also received the Norwegian Industry Design Scholarship for young designers, which gave her the opportunity to work with Vestre, a leading manufacturer of outdoor furniture. Her master project "Marineholmen - Fleet" was nominated for "Newcomer of the year" by Design Region Bergen.
